Verification of WHOIS Details Печать

On January 1, 2014, Domainindia began verifying the WHOIS contact information for all new domain registrations and contact information updates to existing domain registrations, as mandated by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN). Any new domain name registration or change to the Registered Name Holder of an existing domain name registration will require the verification of the Registrant contact email address.

Understanding the Contact Verification Process A change to the Registered Name Holder of a domain name is defined as any modification to the first name, last name, or email address of the registrant contact. Such changes will trigger the contact verification process, wherein an email containing a verification link will be sent to the registrant's email address. The recipient must click the link in the email to complete the verification process. New domain registrations will also initiate the verification process.

Consequences of Incomplete Contact Verification Failure to complete the verification process within 15 days will result in the suspension of the affected domain by the registrar.

What Does Domain Suspension Entail? Domain suspension involves setting the domain's nameservers to ns1/ns2.verification-hold.suspended-domain.com. Once the verification is performed, the domain's DNS will return to its original state prior to the suspension. However, as with any DNS change, this process can take up to 72 hours to fully propagate worldwide.

How to Unsuspend a Domain The suspension of a domain will be lifted after the WHOIS information is successfully verified. Domain suspensions occur only after a verification email has been sent and the link within the email has not been clicked. Be sure to check your spam/junk folder for the verification email. If you cannot find it, contact us so that we can resend the verification email. The email will be sent to the current Registrant email address on the WHOIS, not the primary support email account on file.

About ICANN ICANN is responsible for coordinating the global Internet's systems of unique identifiers and ensuring their stable and secure operation. ICANN maintains policies and specifications for registrars and registrants to abide by.

Understanding WHOIS WHOIS services provide public access to data on registered domain names, including contact information for Registered Name Holders. Registered Name Holders are required to provide accurate and reliable contact details to their Registrar to update WHOIS data for a Registered Name.
