To host a website on your domain name, you need to obtain the Name Servers from your Web Hosting Company and point your domain name to these servers. This article provides a step-by-step guide to updating and enhancing the Name Servers for your domain name.

  1. Get Name Servers from Your Web Hosting Company: Contact your Web Hosting Company to obtain the Name Servers that you need to use for your domain name.

  2. Log in to Your Control Panel: Access your control panel, search for the domain name you want to add or modify Name Servers for, and proceed to the Order Details view.

  3. Update Name Servers: Click on the "Name Servers" link, input the Name Servers provided by your Web Hosting Company (up to 13 Name Servers), and click "Submit."

Note: If you encounter an error indicating that the Name Server is not yet registered, this means the submitted Name Server(s) are not registered with the Registry. Please contact your Web Hosting Company and ask them to provide valid and registered Name Servers.

Important Information:

  • Domain Lock: If your domain name is locked, you must first unlock it before adding or modifying Name Servers.

  • DNS Propagation: After updating your domain name's Name Servers, your website will appear in a web browser within 8 to 24 hours, provided your Web Hosting package is properly set up and you have uploaded your website content. This standard time frame is necessary for DNS propagation to complete worldwide. This process is not controlled by any single ISP or company and cannot be expedited.

  • .UK Domain Names: These support up to 10 Name Servers. You cannot add more than 10 Name Servers for your .UK domain name. To modify or delete a Name Server of a .UK domain name that appears to be the Child Name Server of the same .UK domain name, use the Manage Child Name Server interface.

  • .EU Domain Names: These support up to 9 Name Servers. You cannot add more than 9 Name Servers for your .EU domain name. To modify or delete a Name Server of an .EU domain name that appears to be the Child Name Server of the same .EU domain name, use the Manage Child Name Server interface.

By following these steps, you can effectively update and enhance the Name Servers for your domain name, ensuring a seamless hosting experience for your website.
